About me
My name is Shubham Gupta, I am from India.
I am A mobile Journalist, I produce stories from my mobile for the mobile. I started my journey as a Mobile Journalist from December 2016 when I started interning with Hindustan Times and since then I have produced more than 500 stories. Since childhood I wanted to do something for the society and slowly I discovered that I love capturing stories of others. So I joined Journalism. Discovering your passion and then pursing it is very difficult but I soon found out that how I want to carry my passion forward.
Mobile journalism is the latest trend in Journalism. We call ourselves Mojos. Mojos are mobile journalists who produce stories with mobile for mobile device. Studio has become an older form of journalism, it’s lazy to be not in field. With your mobile phone you become an independent anchor who can do live stories and produce them from anywhere.
I have seen while producing stories people are more comfortable in facing camera.
I have experimented with many forms of storytelling such as 360 and snapchat stories. I have learnt that more important than techniques and equipments, is a strong story. Mojo gives Citizens a chance to tell their own story. It is cost effective, it’s intimating, and it gives a new persepective to journalism.
With mobile phone I have produced stories for Ministers to local tea vendors, and they all are comfortable with it.
There are many challenges but mobile helps me to produce many stories in short time and it’s cost effective. I produce stories for my publication @suchamojo and for my personal account for regular engagement with my audience.
Through journalism I am engaging with so many people daily and it’s heart warming to hear positive stories from them that creat a good impact in the society.
